I know it is a trivial thing, but I don't understand why so many people call me Betty or Becky or some other thing other than Betsy.
B-E-T-S-Y.
Do other people have this problem with people getting their name wrong? if your name is Tim, do they call you Tom? If your name is Mark, do they call you Mork? What's so hard about Betsy?

I'm sure you've heard this before it's so old: “call me anything you want, just don' call me late for supper.” I must confess….I am notorius for giving people nicknames. I'd probably call you bitsy betsy…bitsy for trivial and betsy for you. BUT…since you make a point of stating your dislike, I would never call you Betsy Bitch….I only have to be told once.
Betsy…I love you. peace, maze…actually my name is Tom
Huh. You ought to hear some of the things my husband calls me. Elizabeth. Lizardbreath. Nappy haired hoe (with an e). My dad used to called me Lizzingbretz. Used to date a guy that called me Queen B.
those are nicknames. That's not the same as getting someone's name wrong.
I have that problem…but it is with me. My name is David, not Dave, which I hate. But for some reason I still tell people my name is Dave, or I answer the phone “This is Dave.” Why do I do that…!?
This a very funny post. My name is Yu-Jen, so you can imaging that many people call me “Yu.” But, I would never call myself “You.”
David - If you don't know why you call yourself Dave, I wouldn't know either…
I never call myself much…never found a need, but I do prefer others to call me Yen like the japanese yen.
As for bitsy B-E-T-S-Y, why do you call yourself “backyarder1” (there must be a backyarder out there?)
Tom - why do you call yourself “maze.”
I call myself backyarder because most of my writing and my environmental projects are geared towards getting people to appreciate the nature “right in their own backyards.” And because I spend most of my time outside. We have a two acre backyard.
I'm not sure why my parents decided to start calling me Betsy. My given name is Elizabeth.
For the same reason your husband calls you all the other nicknames…I suspect?
Have you shared your Meaning of Life Statement with your husband and his with you so you can grow together?
Hmmmm. Hard to answer that question. My husband doesn't go in for a lot of deep thinking. He's a do-er. I'm a thinker.
Sounds like a perfect complementary match. As a do-er, I suspect he know what he wants to do so he communicates the meaning of his life through his actions? As a thinker, you might complement him by bringing meaning to his actions as to how they bond you two together as One. In turn, he can help you turn your thoughts/vision to action (as with your petition).
How 's that for a pitch for Oneness?
He is a far better person than I. That's all I know.
Don't give up engaging him in your interests.
Personal Note - My bias is towards God's plan in marriage and family. By faith I trust His Word more than “man's or woman's” even if they seem to make more sense. (I would include myself in this fallible group)
