Do good or feel good?

I was just looking through some of my favorite quotes and came upon this one. This is so true for me most days:
"If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day."
~E.B. White

In response to E.B. White's quote and the Tilte “Do good or feel good:” Do good to feel good. The “or” becomes an “and” and the two actions are no longer mutually exclusive.
Great answer. Thanks. Too bad everything that feels good doesn't always do good, too.
:-)
I so understand this place! We can “think” away how it ought to be, or the coming together which would be ideal and maybe sometimes sort of hit the mark…yet the feeling, which is so valuable, is worthy to expore deeply. I feel the impulse to change things, to make them better, and that speaks to a part of me. And the utter joy of feeling the moment is also delicious! I prefer to enjoy both feelings, act on both, rather than try to put them together and miss both in the fullness.
Good point that “Too bad everything that feels good doesn't always do good, too. ” - I believe the Bible defines for us the “feel good actions” which lead to “no good” as sin. All else that feels good is OK? I am wondering myself. Cheers.
